Job Description

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Security Manager, is responsible for all activity in the Security Department for each shift. In the absence of the Security Manager, Report to the Floor Manager on duty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Brief Officers at the beginning of shift and assign posts.
  • Maintain knowledge of officer's post/whereabouts.
  • Settle minor disputes.
  • Brief Security Manager on any and all problems and incidents.
  • Assists Security Mgr. with schedules
  • Keep shift log of incidents
  • Issue/retrieve equipment during shift.
  • Remain alert to security problems during shift.
  • Guard property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
  • Monitor all areas to ensure compliance with the law, regulations, Casino policies, and procedures.
  • Collect shift logs/incident reports and provide copies of any incident involving compact violations to the Tribal Gaming Office.
  • Assist in training new Security Guards
  • Enforce policies and procedures in a consistent manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all casino and bingo methods of cheating.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Ability to remain standing and or walking for up to 12 hours

Qualifications

  • Must have a thorough understanding of Compact and Casino policies and procedures.
  • Prefer a person with a law enforcement position or with law enforcement schooling.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment
  • Good physical health.
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be certifiable through the Arizona Dept of Gaming/Tribal Gaming Office.
  • Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment and ongoing random drug testing.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree in a related field is preferred, completion of trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training
  • 1-year equivalent to at least TS-4, 6 months specialized work experience, 3 years work experience in related field, or 2 years supervisory work experience
