Temporary Position

Compensation: $65K-$70K (DOE/MAX)

The organization began with a group of student and community activists in 1967 and was incorporated and received non-profit status in 1969. OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

The Compensation Analyst will research job requirements and evaluate job positions to ensure the company is competitive in the areas of salaries and employee benefits. Position is a temporary role, remote. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate abilities on day one in benchmarking, application of geographic differentials, market analyses, knowledge of job classifications and job ranking. Knowledge of ERI and PayFactors Compensation Management System

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.

• Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.

• Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.

• Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.

• Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.

• Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.

• Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.

• Evaluates and implement job analysis instruments and materials.

• Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee negotiations and collective bargaining agreements.

• Conducts focus groups to collect employee feedback on specific issues or topics related to benefits and compensation.

• Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.

• Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. One to three years of experience as a compensation analyst required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may meet the qualifications for this position.
  • Preferred candidate will hold a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR or relevant certification and/or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
  • Candidate must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain an Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
  • Candidate will have a thorough understanding of Federal and State Employment Law required for Arizona with the ability to learn, navigate and apply laws quickly for Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, California, and other areas upon growth.
  • Additionally, candidate will have working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, diversity, and performance management. PC proficiency with various software including Office 365, compensation and HRIS software.
  • Proficiency with ADP preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requirements: This position is both a mobile and a sedentary position with periods of light physical activity and is performed mostly in office surroundings. Positions typical in nature require regular walking or standing; sitting, lifting, and carrying up to 20 pounds; climbing stairs, bending, reaching, holding, grasping, and turning objects; and using fingers to operate computer keyboards. This position will require the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.

REMOTE: Position will be performed remotely however, employee must be available to participate in campus, community-based and corporate activities, as needed.

Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, in accordance with applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking, and other requirements established by CPLC from time to time.
