Position Description

The Town of Marana is seeking a Custodian Supervisor to work in the Public Works Department. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for an individual who is interested in making a direct impact by ensuring Town facilities provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.  This position also offers the opportunity to lead and supervise a team of custodial staff while supporting the daily operations of the department.

 Expected Hiring Range: $25.52 - $31.27 per hour

  • Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.

Salary Range:$25.52 - $37.01 per hour

Hours of Operation:  7:00 – 4:00 pm

On-Call: Rotation and/or as necessary Examples of Duties

  • Provides leadership and development to assigned staff; establishes goals and objectives; participates in the recruitment process, evaluates work performance, ensures policy and procedure compliance, and monitors employee relations matters.
  • Manages day-to-day operations and maintenance; coordinates staff schedules and projects; manages labor, inventory and verifies the effective use of resources and quality work; manages customer service inquiries, complaints and public outreach.
  • Performs weekly site inspections for quality of work performed and safety standards, identifies areas in need of maintenance.
  • Assiss with preparation of budget, contracts, and monitors spending.
  • Assist with scheduling contractors and vendors, project management and equipment repair.
  • Cleans and disinfects Town facilities (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, wiping/washing surfaces, equipment, fixtures).
Minimum Qualifications

  • Specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature acquired through six months of training past the high school equivalency, community college, vocational, or technical schools are likely sources.
  • Three or more years of experience in a related field.
  • Must complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must complete a pre-employment physical and pass a 25-pound lift test.
  • One year of supervisory experience or must complete the Town of Marana’s supervisor academy within one year of hire date. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Over three years’ experience working in a professional cleaning environment or related field.
