Who we are
Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of Americas top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or "service") their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
Principal Duties
Day-to-day management and maintenance of all database management systems and related hardware
Performance tuning, optimizing and scaling all server instances and databases
Write and optimize tSQL - queries, views, stored procedures and functions
Build and support SSIS jobs for process and data flow automation
Support and continue to build out the corporate data warehouse
Support and continue to develop our business intelligence capabilities: SQL Reporting Services and Crystal reports
Some vendor management of third-party systems with locally-hosted databases
Ensure database high-availability as a component of the larger BC/DR plan
Education and Experience Requirements
BS/BA Degree is required
8+ years experience working with and supporting enterprise database applications, specifically all recent versions of MS SQL Server
Expert-level knowledge of supporting databases in a large decentralized financial services organization
Experience with mortgage data and loan origination platforms preferred
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements
Must have excellent communication skills
Must have outstanding customer service skills
Must possess the ability to interact regularly with people
