DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The Database Coordinator is responsible for directing and controlling the activities related to data planning,

development, and the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to its management, security,

maintenance, and utilization. Advise management on database concepts and functional capabilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Develop and install operation, maintenance and integration of all internal databases.

 Coordinate with management to ensure data cohesiveness and compatibility across projects.

 Input data, secure database, and secure backups.

 Analyze database performance and remain current in regulations and procedures for database management;

analyze information within databases, writing statistical and narrative reports as necessary.

 Provide user support and training in the use of databases and generating reports.

 Install, update, upgrade and maintain 3rd party database applications

 Provide preventive maintenance on all databases.

 Providing testing of new applications that would be introduced into the GRIC network environment.

 Coordinate with vendors to complete installs, updates, and upgrades to all databases.

 Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

 Working knowledge of computer hardware and software.

 Knowledge of a broad range of computer related technologies such as wide area networking (e-mail), and

software packages such as database management, presentation graphics, spreadsheets and word processing.

 Knowledge of XML, ASP and .NET technologies.

 Knowledge of SQL based relational databases, including web based database functionality.

 Experience with content management systems.

 Skill in use of database and system utility software, in a networked environmental of various computer types,

to design, adapt, develop, implement and maintain database systems.

 Strong verbal and written skills.
