Are you passionate about fostering a culture of integrity and excellence in healthcare? Valleywise Health is seeking a Director of Compliance to join our team and help drive a strong compliance culture across our organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer/Privacy Officer, you will play a key role in managing and advancing our hospitals compliance programs, ensuring we meet all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with departmental leaders, lead audits and investigations, develop and deliver staff training, and contribute to the strategic growth and strength of our compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee compliance activities across all hospital departments.
  • Lead and conduct audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective compliance strategies and programs.
  • Provide training, guidance, and education to hospital staff on compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Partner closely with leadership to ensure ongoing regulatory adherence and foster an environment of continuous improvement.

Annual Salary Range: $127,940.80 - $188,718.40
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Prefer a Master's in Business, Healthcare, or Law, or Juris Doctorate.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare compliance at a hospital or healthcare system with at least three to five (3 - 5) years in a leadership role.
Specialized Training:
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations
Certification/Licensure:
  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred at hiring, mandatory to be received within 12 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, such as those through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
