Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Director of Data Management to join our team and lead our data management, analytics, and integration initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our cloud data infrastructure, and you will drive the organizations overall data management strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various cloud data platforms and data integration technologies along with a proven track record of building enterprise level data warehouse solutions and implementing effective data management practices. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and accessibility of our data assets, as well
as developing and implementing data strategies that align with long-term business goals. This includes overseeing the integration of various cloud and on-premise technologies to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility across the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Define and execute the data vision and strategy for the organization
- Drive data-driven decision making by providing actionable insights through advanced analytics
- Foster a data-driven culture by promoting data literacy and analytics adoption across the organization
- Lead efforts to define and manage master data domains, hierarchies, and governance processes
- Provide strategic direction and empower the team to excel in data integration, quality, and governance efforts
- Mentor and lead a team of data professionals to deliver high-quality solutions that are in line with business objectives
- Establish and enforce data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
- Stay updated on data privacy laws and evolving compliance requirements
- Develop and implement MDM strategies to create a single source of truth for critical data entities
- Stay informed about emerging data integration and management technologies and trends
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and platforms to meet business requirements
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure effective implementation of data solutions and integration technologies
Desired Experience/Education:
- 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role focused on data management
- Strong understanding of various cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, AWS, etc.
- Track record of driving change and innovation in a data-driven environment
- Strong understanding of data integration technologies, ETL processes, and warehousing concepts
- Demonstrable experience building and implementing enterprise level data warehouse solutions
- Knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, data quality, and metadata management
- Past experience merging data from disparate legacy platforms and moving from on-premises to the cloud
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
- In-depth understanding of data privacy and security regulations
Other Desired Skills / Certifications:
- Knowledge of different Customer Data Platforms is highly desirable
- Experience implementing a CDP is preferred
- Familiarity with Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Cosmos DB, Data Lakes, and Snowflake
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build rapport and communicate effectively at all levels and across disciplines. Relationship management skills are a must
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, strong work ethic and high standard of excellence
- Recent experience in a collaborative Agile working environment (Scrum preferred)
