The Hilton in Albany, NY is searching for a Director of Human Resources to join our team. Located in the Capital District of downtown Albany, the hotel has 385 guest rooms with views of the Hudson River and New York State Capitol. This great full service Hilton Hotel has 14 meeting rooms, an on site restaurant and lounge, fitness center, and indoor pool.

Job Purpose: To manage the Human Resources department and assist in administration of human resources policies, procedures, and practices. This position functions as the central contact for information specific to human resources and it administers systems to ensure associates are treated fairly and consistently.

Job Responsibilities:

The Director of Human Resources of the Hilton Hotel Albany is responsible for directing and administering the Human Resources function. The incumbent is responsible for implementation of H.R. strategies in partnership with the General Manager and operating managers. Duties will encompass the areas of recruitment and retention; training and development; benefits administration; employee relations; compensation; and safety and workers' compensation.

Job Qualifications:

    -Develop, coordinate and conduct orientation for all new associates.
    -Maintain training records and facilitate, develop and/or conduct training sessions that provide initial and ongoing training by working with the management team to ensure department and individual training is provided.
    -Understand and use the concepts and legal guidelines to ensure all persons are treated within the requirements of the law. Knowledge and practice of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, COBRA, etc., as well as state laws.
    -Aid in scheduling/coordinating (and participate as necessary) each department's meeting procedures by establishing practices and implementing decision making tools to improve the effectiveness of each department's meetings.
    -Maintain personnel files with current compensation, benefit, performance, and mandated information, etc. Provide information to authorized persons, and update files to document personnel actions and provide payroll information.
    -The Human Resource Director is the key recruitment contact, developing community relationships. Coordinate interview process, process applications, manage pre-employment drug screening & assessment tools, and correlate job offer process. Work with other managers to improve retention.
    -Orient associates and maintain records for use in employee benefits administration and conduct meetings with associates as necessary to ensure all eligible associates are familiar with their benefit package. Enroll associates in the applicable benefit plans, process monthly billings, audit files and enrollment to ensure coverage is correct.
    -Act as the contact for any associates who need to report a Workers Compensation Injury. Coordinate facility efforts to ensure injured associates receive prompt medical attention. As necessary, maintain OSHA log in accordance with the act, correlate and communicate incident trends, and participate in safety team meetings.
    -Human Resources oversees payroll processing. Payroll information such as employment data, hours worked, rates of pay, benefit deductions, and all with holdings necessary to accurately process payroll must be input on a timely basis.
    -Knowledge of Union and Non Union relations
    -May perform other duties as assigned.
