DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Domestic Violence Court Coordinator position performs professional work of considerable dif?culty in
planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the activities of the Domestic Violence Court program with
the Judicial Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


- Perform detailed case management in the coordination of cases ?led in the Domestic Violence (DV) Court;
responsible for establishing the goals and objectives of the DV Court; schedule, prepare agendas and present
materials for DV Court meetings.
0 Assist in hiring, supervision, and monitoring of personnel assigned to the DV Court; organize and
coordinate training for staff, care providers, and judges; assist in planning and evaluating the work of
assigned staff; prepare and maintain time and attendance records of assigned staff.
0 Develop public information programs and acts as a clearinghouse for news releases, publications and
presentations to the council, districts, media, public, civic organizations, and other private or public groups
having reasonable interest in the DV Court.
0 Consult with Chief Judge, DV Court Judge, and administration on a wide range of micro and macro-
organizational and managerial issues including but not limited to enhancing overall DV Court ef?ciency and
internal and external quality assurance.

- Confer weekly with care providers, Behavioral Health, Social Services, Probation Division, Police
Department, and school representatives on progress of the participant.

- Participate and ensure development of the participants safety plan; meet weekly with participants, their
families and care providers.
0 Maintain regular contact with community entities to assess and assist with program problems and needs.
0 Ensure compliance to the program grant requirements and the program evaluation plans; assist in the writing
of DV Court grant proposals; maintain an accounting and auditing system with respect to program grant
funds.
0 Maintain an automated database for case monitoring; prepare a variety of statistical reports, court data and
records.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:Thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Tribal laws, rules, regulations, titles and ordinances.
Thorough knowledge of judicial, legal, policies and procedures.Considerable knowledge of Domestic Violence organization, functions, responsibilities and procedures,
Domestic Violence Courts and Domestic Violence offender and victim treatments.Considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.Ability to evaluate, develop, and implement programs and services in the court setting.Ability to organize and coordinate program activities.Ability to interview, assess and make recommendations on participant acceptance into the Domestic Violence
Court Program.Ability to make presentations to employees, judges, attorneys, representatives of agencies and the Gila River
Indian Community.Ability to maintain strict con?dentiality.Ability to observe the con?dential nature of court records and proceedings.Ability to analyze, appraise and assess problematic solutions and intervene appropriately.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Of?cials and the
general public.Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business Administration,
Public Health, Health Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology or related ?eld and three (3) years
administrative management, to include one (1) year supervisory experience. Prefer a minimum of three (3) years
experience working in a DV Court with additional training or certi?cations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Required to pass a background check.Prospective employees shall not possess the following background:1. Any felony conviction in any jurisdiction2. Any misdemeanor conviction in any jurisdiction within the last ?ve (5) years.3. Any misdemeanor conviction in any jurisdiction within the last seven (7) years that involved a dishonest
act or false statement, e.g., fraud, theft, perjury; or a crime against a vulnerable individual.Subject to review as to con?icts of interest and shall abide by the Code of Ethics for Judicial Employees.Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of drivingrecord for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving recordmust be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submissionof the application.Supervisory, Salaried Position
