Engineering Technician

Seasonal position available with KCMO’s Public Works Department, Materials Lab Division, 4721 Coal Mine Rd.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Salary Range: $16.64-$26.86/hour. Application

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs various tests on Asphalt samples from field and at Asphalt Plant locations to ensure compliance with City specifications.
• Assists Material Testing Lab Staff in collecting Materials testing samples of concrete, soil, and other various construction materials for various testing for compliance to City specifications.
• Cleans and maintains Materials Lab equipment required for testing.
• Work is performed under the supervision of a technical superior and is inspected while in process and to ensure adherence to departmental standards.

REQUIRES high school graduation. Must possess a valid state-issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Preference is given to applicants with lab experience.
