Environmental Attorney - Senior Associate or Counsel - Portland, Seattle, Bellevue, or Anchorage
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has an exciting opportunity for an environmental attorney to join its Environmental Practice with the job classification depending on qualifications and relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years environmental experience involving some combination of counseling, litigation, regulatory, compliance and/or permitting. The primary focus of this position will be environmental due diligence, identification and analysis of environmental liabilities, negotiation of indemnity agreements and other contractual provisions, issues involving environmental insurance, and guidance on environmental risks to businesses. Experience with regulatory compliance is required; experience in water issues, cleanup, and/or air pollution work will be valued though not required. Experience providing environmental support for real estate transactions involving M&A, and a science, technical or governmental background would also be an advantage. Candidates must have a J.D. and local bar membership is preferred. Excellent writing and oral communication skills and outstanding client service skills are required. Preferred office location is Portland but Seattle, Bellevue or Anchorage are also options.
