Job Description
We have an immediate opening for an EXPERIENCED fire alarm/security system service and installation technician. We are offering a SIGN-ON BONUS!
Fire Alarm/Security System Service Technician Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of low-voltage systems
- Minimum 2 years fire alarm/security system service experience, especially in Fire Alarm related systems, preferably large projects
- NICET certifications(s) (preferred, not required)
- CSA (preferred, will be required within 6 months)
- Experience installing and troubleshooting security systems
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, system software/programs, schematics and operational/installation manuals.
- Ability to grasp new ideas quickly
- Factory certifications and installation experience EST-3required (UTC-GE Certified a Plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, operate man-lifts and work in tight spaces.
- Excellent customer service skills; Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- High school diploma or equivalent, trade school or technical training
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Coordinate with customer to plan and execute installation, programming, service, repair or Fire Marshall inspection projects
- Pull wire, calibrate equipment, troubleshoot issues during installation, repair and service calls
- Ability to determine and remedy system issues with little or no supervision
- Request parts as needed to complete projects
- Verify equipment and system functionality by testing signals
- Test systems as required by NFPA72, contract or permit
- Knowledge of various fire codes as required by AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction)
- Complete service documentation, inspection reports, time cards, etc. and communicate issues
- Ensure projects are completed on time – Green Tag first time
- Safety is a priority – use proper safety equipment and procedures
- Keep work areas tidy; clean up at end of day, returning all equipment/tools to the proper area
- After-hours emergency service may be required and on-call rotation
Must be a US Citizen or have permanent residency and speak/read English
