POSITION SUMMARY

The Early Head Start (EHS) Home Visitor (HV) is responsible to promote school readiness by preparing children and families for school success and life success as it relates to this position. The Home Visitor implements home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home-visiting curriculum and promote children's progress across the standards as described in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages birth to five, including for children with disabilities, dual language learners, and to build respectful culturally responsive and trusting relationships with families. The Home Visitor provides ongoing intensive and comprehensive early childhood development services to eligible families and pregnant women (who have a child age birth to three years of age). The Home Visitor works as part of a program inter-disciplinary team to support and provide pregnant women eligible families and children high quality education, disability, health, social services. Abide by all state and federal regulations that apply to this position, follow revised Head Start Program Performance Standards, Head Start Act, and CPLC ECD Content Area Plans and Procedures. The Home Visitor maintains a Home Based caseload of 10 to 12 infant, toddlers and/or pregnant women, conducts weekly home visits and scheduled socialization activities. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. Facilitate health practices to keep children safe in the school bus, outdoor and indoor environments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicant must have basic keyboard skills, be able to use a computer, computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe) and web based systems.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
  • Applicant must have home-based CDA credential or CDA comparable credential, such as Infant Toddler CDA, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree and must obtain a Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
  • NOTE: Education obtained from another country must be evaluated from an accredited organization to determine equivalency to USA education status. Previous home visiting experience is helpful.


Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, in accordance with applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking, weekly COVID-19 testing at their expense, and other requirements established by CPLC from time to time.
