GIS Specialist

Definition:    Under general supervision of the GIS Supervisor, provides Geographic Information System (GIS) database maintenance, local user and technical support, andassistance with the development of the Community’s GIS applications using appropriate software.  Updates current geographic data, creates new GIS data and maps, and performs geographic analysis.  Works with Community staff to improve GIS database management and workflow.  Conducts local user GIS training and completes other related tasks as assigned.   This job class is treated as FLSA exempt.
