DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Help Desk Technician will respond to inquiries and requests for assistance in regard to the Communitys
computer systems or PCs. Incumbent is responsible for taking calls regarding IT related issues and problems,
independently handling basic issues on the telephone; assist the computer support team in resolving and tracking
microcomputer hardware and connectivity problems; and resolve problems by using on-site troubleshooting
techniques and/or telephone support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
0 Document problem calls by maintaining a database of hardware and software problems/solutions using a
problem call tracking software.Maintain, troubleshoot, install software and peripheral devices.Assist end-users with support of features of the Microsoft office suite.Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance with organizations computer systems or PCs.Identify problems, troubleshoot, and provide advice to assist users; communicate with other IS staff to resolve
more complex issues.May operate in a mainframe and/or microcomputer environment.
0 Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:Knowledge of computer and network operating systems (DOS, Windows).Working knowledge of computer hardware and software.Knowledge of customer service methods and techniques.Skill in use of system utility software, in a networked environment of various computer types.
Ability to document computer problems and solutions.Ability to resolve computer related problems over the phone.Ability to respond professionally, effectively and efficiently to customer service requests.
Ability to assess customer support needs, and implement effective solutions.Ability to work well and interrelate in a team environment.Ability to effectively communicate complex technical and non-technical information to various audiences.

and the general public.
0 Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or GED and a minimum of three (3) years experience in computer systems maintenance,
hardware and applications, common problem resolution or IT support in a customer service capacity, and
troubleshooting.ADDITIONAL RE! QUIREMENT:

- Tribal Driving Permit can be required.
