Histotechnologist

Histotechnologist sought by UofL Health - Louisville, Inc. d/b/a UofL Health - Jewish Hospital, in Louisville, KY, to be responsible for:  Maintain readiness of frozen section, grossing space, & autopsy rooms; monitor frozen section quality & turnaround time; maintain adequate supply levels for department; ensure specimens are properly labeled & checked for completeness prior to transport; work with OR & other departments submitting specimens to make sure submission requirements are met & maintained; ensure that all laboratory functions are consistent with Hospital Compliance guidelines; ensure that all questionable specimen orders are resolved prior to transport; recommend & implement improvements necessary to achieve operational goals & to improve patient outcomes; perform kidney biopsy adequacy, frozen sections, & assist with autopsies; & assure appropriate procedures are followed in specimen processing, tissue quality & staining. Requirements:  Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related scientific field such as Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Pathology.
