About the HLA Technologist:
Participates in all aspects of ABO and donor histocompatibility testing including test management, performance, and evaluation. Also assists with quality control and quality assurance.
Determines donors HLA and ABO initial typing within a pre-determined turnaround time.
Specimen Archival and Processing.
HLA Typing using Real-Time PCR method.
Routine equipment maintenance
Participates in transplant and other on-call rotation.
Requirements:
Meets current state, federal and other regulatory agency (ASHI/CAP) educational/experience requirements:
-have earned a doctoral, master's or bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical
laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
HLA Experience (at least one-year experience testing in accredited Histocompatibility or Immunological lab) preferred.
ASHI certification preferred.
Shift requirements:
4 10-hour shifts, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat (8am -6:30pm)
During training, shifts will be 5-8 hour shifts starting 7AM Mon., Tues. and 8AM Wed. - Fri.
*Donor Network of Arizona's HLA laboratory is a 24/7 operation. Position requires on-call availability (19:00-07:00) 10 nights per month, not including ten recognized holidays also covered by call*
