DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Housing Construction Foreman provides minor administrative with primary responsibility of supervising
construction crews within the Department of Community Housing and Community Services Department; oversee
a variety of technical and non-technical construction and renovation work performed on dwelling units throughout
the Gila River Indian Community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


- Provide daily ?eld supervision of skilled construction and/0r renovation personnel; assist in project
procurement, ?eld work scheduling, timecard processing and performance evaluation; assist in planning,
developing, and implementing long and short range goals and objectives.
0 Maintain related policies and procedures for effective, ef?cient and safe implementation of construction
activities.
0 Perform periodic inspections of facilities, equipment and work in process, as de?ned under the project.
0 Review, analyze and maintain records of ?eldwork, time schedules, material and equipment utilized on each
project.
0 Coordinate construction activities with supervisor.

- Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions for construction and renovation crew.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:0 Considerable knowledge of building modi?cations, procedures, methods of work processes and standards.
0 Considerable knowledge of supervisory techniques.
0 Considerable knowledge of construction management techniques and practices.
0 Knowledge of techniques use in the installation, maintenance, repair and modi?cation of electrical,
mechanical, plumbing, heating and air-condition systems.
0 Understanding of basic work-drawings and speci?cation for structural modi?cations of dwelling and non-
dwelling building structures.
0 Ability to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate work of others.
0 Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
0 Ability to work independently.

- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
0 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community Of?cials
and the public.
0 Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position; agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and minimum of ?ve (5) years experience in ?eld and technical building
construction, maintenance and renovation work; and which includes one (1) year supervisory experience.ADDITIONAL REg QUIREMENT:

- Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record
must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
application.
0 Required to pass a background check and ?ngerprint clearance as a condition of employment and must
continue to maintain throughout duration of employment.
0 Background checks are required for positions that involve regular contact with or control over Community
Children in accordance with The Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, 25 US. C.
Section 3201 through 3210 and C.F.R. Part 63 and positions that have regular contact with the Elderly.Supervisory, Salaried Position
