HR Generalist
We are in search of a talented HR Generalist (HRG) to support our food accounts in various locations east of the Rockies. As a valued member of the People & Culture team, the HRG will collaborate with account leadership in support of the day-to-day HR functions for our frontline Placemakers. This will include processes & procedures; learning & development; performance management, staffing, culture, diversity, and employee relations.
The role will report to a People & Culture Business Partner and will work in close partnership with the larger ISS People & Culture Team to convey best practices, develop talent and support the people needs of the business.
Responsibilities will encompass:
- Works closely with the P&C Business Partner as needed on strategic HR initiatives encompassing Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Learning and Development, Employee Engagement and Compensation-related action items.
- Builds and fosters relationships with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Assists Talent Acquisition in the hourly recruitment process to include new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Advises on company policies and procedures ensuring all company HR related policies are applied consistently.
- Objectively coaches employees and management through complex and difficult issues, while providing guidance to management on appropriate disciplinary action.
- Assists in investigations and supports managers in resolving workplace conflict.
- Supports employees in various HR-related topics such as leave of absences, payroll matters, and guide them in utilizing Shared Services.
- Promotes HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Assists in creating and organizing training & development initiatives.
- Participates in leadership meetings aligning staffing strategies with business objectives.
- Enriches engagement of employees, promotes culture, and help create a positive work experience.
- Maintains employee bulletin to ensure compliance of federal, state and local employment regulations.
- Participates and embraces the development opportunities within the P&C department and the site.
The ideal candidate possesses:
- A robust HR acumen with 4+ years functional HR experience preferably in corporate dining, hospitality and restaurant, supporting a diverse, fast-paced environment of 500(+) employees
- A people-centric aptitude
- Discretion and problem-solving agility
- Resilience, persuasiveness, and receptive communication (both written and verbal); has the wherewithal in demonstrating empathy
- Ambition and independence in prioritizing tasks and daily workflow
- Diplomacy; role-models unity and promotes healthy people dynamics
- Impartiality in employee investigations with detailed reporting and follow-ups
- Flexibility; willing to be responsive on weekends, evenings and travel to locations as needed
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- HRIS Savvy
- A Bachelor degree in HR, Business Management or a related (preferred)
- Having an HR certification is a plus
ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $85000 per year - $103000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
