As an integral part of the Infection Control Committee, under the guidance of the VP of Specialty Services, Quality and Safety and Manager of Quality Management, this role is a key pillar in our organization-wide Infection Prevention & Control Program. The Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) is not just a job, but a mission. It involves surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, investigation of infection or clusters of infections, microbiological monitoring of the healthcare environment, targeted education, consultation, research, data collection, analysis and reporting, development/review of policies and procedures, and continued professional development. The impact of our work is far-reaching, as our patient population's vulnerability to infection necessitates that Infection Prevention and Control efforts span across all hospital departments, services, and disciplines. The ICPs may be called upon to provide services at any Valleywise Health (VH) location. This role may also provide rotational call support for Valleywise Health clinical areas.
Annual Salary Range: $76,835.20 - $113,339.20
Qualifications
Education:
- Prefer a Bachelors Degree or higher in nursing.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience working in an acute, ambulatory care, or Public Health setting that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Prefer two (2) years of experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
Certification/Licensure:
- Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
- Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
- Current AZ Drivers License.

- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
- Prefer strong computer skills and experience with statistical analysis.
