Job Description

Make a Difference at Grand Canyon University

Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as an Instructional Assistant for the traditional ground campus in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, which provides a job focused education. The college features a variety of programs from counseling and psychology to justice studies, history and English literature.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

  • Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
  • Observes students performance, and records relevant data to aid instructor in assessing progress
  • Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material
  • May facilitate additional ad hoc lectures as a refresher to classroom formal lecture
  • Assists with grading assignments
  • Proctors occasional make up examinations/assignments
  • This is an IN PERSON - ON CAMPUS position. Classes are held twice a week, and run from 7am to 5pm. You must have day time availability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited institution.
  • Must have sufficient courses in discipline of assistance needed as well as having received a grade of B or higher in each.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
