Job Description

Our ideal Instructional Designer will lead the creation and delivery of innovative training solutions that align with field operations and organizational goals. The role demands a deep understanding of instructional design principles, a strong curiosity for emerging trends like artificial intelligence, and the ability to design and implement forward-thinking learning experiences. We highly prefer candidates with experience in the hospitality industry, as this role will involve designing training that directly impacts restaurant processes, leadership development, and operational excellence.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Duties & Responsibilities (Section 2) Not an exhaustive list of all activities

* Lead the design and implementation of training programs, with a focus on job skills, leadership development, and operational processes.

* Select and apply appropriate instructional methodologies to organize content and ensure effective learning experiences.

* Drive various training initiatives from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and considering innovating trends in learning technologies and instructional design.

* Work closely with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and field operators to identify training needs and deliver solutions that enhance knowledge retention and performance.

* Plan and conduct evaluations of training effectiveness through field visits, surveys, and other data collection methods.

* Incorporate brand principles, culture, and values, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, into all training materials.

* Adapt to evolving business needs, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for training delivery.


EDUCATION

* Masters Degree in Instructional Design and Technology, Learning Design, or a related field or equivalent experience in instructional design, within the hospitality industry.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

* At least 5 years of experience in instructional design, with proven skills in developing both digital and instructor-led training.

* Strong experience with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360) and Learning Management Systems (LMS), especially Absorb LMS and Workday Learning.

* Experience in multimedia development and visual communication to enhance learning materials.

* Demonstrated ability to manage projects with tools like Monday.com, ensuring timelines, milestones, and budgets are met.

* Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry as it enables the creation of more relevant and impactful training content, preferred

* A strong interest in emerging learning technologies, particularly AI, and how they can be leveraged to enhance training outcomes.

* Experience with instructional design theories, models, and strategies, with the ability to apply them to create effective learning solutions.

* Ability to manage change, multitask, and prioritize in a dynamic environment.

* Problem-solving abilities, with strong analytical skills to evaluate and improve training effectiveness.

* Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Articulate 360, enabling the creation of engaging and interactive learning content.

* Experience in authoring and managing content within LMS platforms

* Experience with project management tools like Monday.com for managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.

* Knowledge of multimedia and front-end web development frameworks, supporting the creation of visually compelling training materials.
