POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct supervision and mentorship of professional staff, perform a wide range of activities and projects of varying levels of professional complexity within area of specialty.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY
- Provide general administrative and/or clerical support as needed.
- Interact directly with colleagues, clientele and/or other internal or external constituencies in the resolution of day-to-day operations.
- Provide entry-level administrative or technical services in support of operating objectives of the department.
- Receive guidance, training and mentoring from more senior professional staff.
- Conduct research and prepare reports based on findings to include recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
- Participate in the design, planning and implementation of on-going or special projects designed to develop professional skills and expertise.
- Perform other job related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or technical school.
- Class schedule, transcripts or other documents verifying enrollment must be submitted with application
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA'S)
- Ability to communicate in oral and written English.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed, verbal and written instructions.
- Administrative/clerical office skills.
- Organizational and filing skills.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.
The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:
- Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.
- Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.
- Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.
- All essential duties are performed indoors.
- Duties are performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
- Duties are performed on an even surface, which may be carpeted or tile. Working surface is typically dry.
- Works with close supervision and directions from supervisor.
- Equipment typically used in the performance of office duties include telephone, photocopy machine, fax machine, typewriter, computer terminal, computer printer, computer keyboard, and calculator.
- Materials and products handled in the course of performing essential duties include files, forms, reports, various other paperwork, and a wide variety of basic office supplies.
