Job Description

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction, the incumbent will install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, peripherals, and protocols. Investigates hardware problems and performs system hardware and communication connection repairs. Assists in the installation and troubleshooting of networking hardware, peripherals, and protocols. Performs diagnostic testing. Responds to inquiries and requests for assistance within the organization's computer systems. Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users, coordinates with other IT areas to resolve problems as necessary. Ensure technology resources are operational and available for use by supported organizational programs and departments. Some project management as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Response to end-user requests for technical assistance, support, and implementations.
  • Support users in both environments Hybrid Windows AD and Azure/O365.
  • Advises users of the on-going status of their request, and places follow-up calls to ensure that satisfactory service was provided.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
  • Support current security equipment including cameras, video storage, door access, and other equipment at office sites.
  • Deploy new assets such as computers, printers, phones, and other IT-covered devices.
  • Prepares computer deployments and responses to computer re-imaging needs.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding computer and network connectivity problems or questions.
  • Works with Network Team in support of network hardware including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Utilizing in-house asset tracking system, maintain inventory of all IT hardware and software, as well as electronic documentation of service and support instances.
  • Reviews records to check hardware/software inventory, update service calls, and verify or modify user identification records.
  • Learns the functions and operation of new products, systems, or equipment by attending training or through tutorials or self-instruction.
  • Perform computer system re-imaging and recovery.
  • Prioritizes requests or problems according to established criteria and enters relevant data into a computerized user-request tracking system.
  • Resolves problems or provides "how-to" instructions using a variety of online monitoring and diagnostic software tools, reference manuals, vendors, and on-the-job experience.
  • Performs best practices preventive maintenance as per IT industry standards.
  • Available for special projects at the direction of the IT Manager, senior IT staff, or other IMTS leadership.
  • Participates in IMTS Department planning and team building.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to remote office sites required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Education /Background :
    • Requires Associates/two-year degree in IT or related field or three years of experience in computer operations, basic networking and telecommunication support, or providing technical computer support to users.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills.
    • Certifications in A+, Network+, and/or MCSE are desirable but not required.
    • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • Other requirements :
    • Able to provide excellent customer service.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic project management skillset desired.
    • Bilingual in Spanish/English desired but not required.

    Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

    Position requirements: This position is both a mobile and a sedentary position with periods of light physical activity and is performed mostly in office surroundings. Positions typical in nature require regular walking or standing; sitting, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; climbing stairs, bending, reaching, holding, grasping and turning objects; and using fingers to operate computer keyboards. This position will require the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.

    Travel: Local, interstate and intrastate travel to Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, will be necessary to successfully fulfill the duties of this position. Candidate must have and maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Technology will be utilized to minimize travel whenever feasible. The travel requirements for this position are anticipated to be 25 to 35 percent assignment depending. Overnight travel must be approved in advance by the Department VP.
