General Description of Duties: Will be responsible for leading assigned janitorial staff, completing all associated administrative paperwork as well as assigned housekeeping services duties. Will assist in operational job specific training for a person or persons with disabilities (associate employees), on how to complete all aspects of janitorial duties; tracks and records daily progression. Work will be performed in a hands-on-fashion. Participates in the assessment of the progress assigned associates are making towards independence in their job.Directs the work of assigned associate employees with disabilities, ensuring the level of service required by the contract are met, conducts inspections of work performed by associates throughout the day and records progress Cleans restrooms, and re-stock items and remove trash. Vacuum, sweep, mop, or buff, floors. Ensures grounds and sidewalks are free of trash and debris. Dusts and polishes furniture and horizontal surfaces. Removes bulk linen from dormitory buildings and delivers to laundry area. Completes needed repairs/replacement of items in dormitory rooms in accordance with service requests. Removes and disposes of bulk trash from grounds and buildings. Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to supporting the needs of associates and clients with developmental disabilities in accordance with state and agency requirements and protocols.
Education and Training: High School Diploma (or equivalent). One (1) year experience performing janitorial services for a large facility is required. Must have experience operating commercial floor cleaning equipment, and have experience utilizing a variety of small hand and power tools. One (1) year experience leading or supervising staff; three (3) years general work experience is preferred.. Experience working the disabled adults is preferred. Must be able to work cooperatively with several work teams during the course of a day, and present a friendly, courteous image for the Agency to the general public, customers, and public officials. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must have reliable transportation and if job assignment requires driving a personal or Agency vehicle on Agency-related business, employee must have and maintain a current New Mexico drivers license, and an Agency-insurable driving record. Must be able to lift 25 lbs., crouch, kneel, push, pull, kneel, bend, stoop frequently, and be able to carry 25 lbs, squat, reach above shoulder(s) frequently. Must be able to work with a variety of cleaning solvents.
Job Type: Full-Time Monday thru Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm
Pay From: $16.90 per hour.
