Clinical Therapist

Our Crisis clinical team has an opening for a qualified therapist/clinician who is ready to advance. Practice your craft while developing your skills toward more leadership within the NAI system of care. New Alternatives Inc. operates a variety of diverse programs throughout the community often at different locations. CAC referrals come from Psychiatric Hospitals, PERT and ESU.

CAC has the goal of decreasing the need to utilize high end crisis services by meeting the unmet needs when suicidality is present within the youth and or the family.

We provide strength based therapeutic services while collaborating with other providers to meet the level of needs for families. CAC is an intensive Outpatient Mental Health Program contracted with San Diego Behavioral Health. We provide 1:1, and family therapy with diverse families typically suffering with intergenerational trauma that continues to manifest within their family system and their community.

Practice includes opportunities for providing crisis therapy, MI, DBT, CBT and TF-CBT modalities as well as expressive arts therapy. Our specialty is a team approach and we meet people where they are at clinically and physically. High level of clinical supervision with LCSW and LMFT on site with a high level of support. We are located in Chula Vista.

We are looking for both Licensed or licensed eligible clinicians.

An LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or ASW, AMFT, APCC is required as well as registration with BBS.

  • Provide family driven, youth centered therapy for youth experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Dynamic trauma informed agency provides in-home mental health services to youth & families.
  • Partner with the program and community to decrease suicidality and increase hope.
  • Excellent opportunity to work with children & teens, typically age 6 -17 years old.
  • Partner with families from diverse backgrounds with a variety of needs.
  • Be a part of a Trauma Informed Agency that incorporates evidence based practices.
  • Become equipped with an expansive knowledge of an array of community resources.
  • Provide short term individual and family therapy.
  • Advocate for youth and families within the educational system.
  • Collaborate with a variety of clinics to promote the well being of each youth, their family and the community.
  • Position is diverse & challenging with a high level of direct service.
  • Agency has an excellent training program including TIC, CSEC, LGBTQ, substance use and additional training opportunities.
  • BBS approved supervision.
  • Outpatient County Mental Health Contract.
  • Collaborate with hospitals, schools, and other providers.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
  • Fast paced dynamic environment with a compassionate multidisciplinary team.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Skills must demonstrate capacity for leadership and or experience.
  • Licensed required with BBS in California. (Exceptions may be considered if registered with BBS pending approval with license from another state.)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills a plus
  • Use of own car, as services take place throughout San Diego County.
