Job Description

Key Purpose


The Learning and Development Coordinator assesses developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions, those existing and those to be developed, for employees. This position actively

searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance, effect behavior change and recognize performance.

In addition, this position evaluates effectiveness through performance metrics. The Learning and Development Manager ensures alignment with strategic business objectives and maintains high quality standards in instructional design and development for all methods of program delivery.

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence


  • Report to the Director of HRBP and work in close partnership with Learning & Development colleagues, all facets of the ISS People & Culture Team, Operations, and Senior Leadership
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues across the company to ensure information is disseminated effectively and participate in project groups and meetings as required
  • Freely utilize and share best practices to drive increased effectiveness and performance of the Learning & Development team


Ideal Candidate Experience


  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Learning Management, Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, Education or a related field
  • Expertise in digital content creation focused on micro-learning with a social media aesthetic
  • 5+ years of Instructional Design and instructor-led training experience
  • Proficiency in adult learning theory and instructional design best practices that drives behavior change
  • Exemplary facilitation skills in all settings and delivery models, including but not limited to instructor-led in-person and virtual, web-based self-paced, coaching, conferences, small to large audiences - senior leaders to frontline learners
  • Prior experience conducting needs assessments/analysis to identify performance and behavior gaps and recommend potential instructional and non-instructional solutions
  • eLearning design experience and demonstrated expertise in the technical development, implementation and troubleshooting of web-based training modules
  • Basic knowledge and experience working with Learning Management Systems
  • Onboarding, transitions, and/or large-scale project and program experience
  • Evidenced strong consultative, collaborative and team approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers, partners, business leaders and executives
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and navigate in a highly matrixed environment
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or French Canadian
  • Must be proficient with
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)


Key Accountabilities


  • Identify training needs, recommend and implement solutions, and evaluate and measure effectiveness
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive training strategy ensuring strategic alignment of training and development with business goals
  • Collaborate with HR team members and business leaders to understand their needs related to training and development by proactively interfacing with key stakeholders in order to understand, recommend and deploy effective solutions
  • Conduct assessments and analyses to define performance, skill, knowledge and behavior gaps and recommend training and development to drive individual and company-wide capability and performance improvement.
  • Design and develop programs and curriculum, partner with internal subject matter experts and/or external vendors to achieve defined training, learning and development objectives
  • Create and administer communication strategies to elevate learning opportunities available in various platforms (virtual, on site, partner sponsored, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain individual and organizational performance evaluation methods for training content, delivery, activities, engagement, and outcomes
  • Utilize metrics to validate knowledge transfer and return on investment

  • Requires ability to lift/move/carry up to 25 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions


ISS offers full time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The annual salary range for this position is $70000.00 per year - $80000.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
