Job Description
Brennan, Manna & Diamond, a mid-size downtown Orlando law firm, is looking for a proactive and organized professional to work as a Legal Assistant for a Transactional/Real Estate and Estate Planning attorney. This is a full-time employee position and an exciting career opportunity with a team-oriented company. You will report to the Office Manager as well as the firm CPO.
Experience Requirements & Education
• 3+ years’ experience in a law firm
• Document Drafting, with specific emphasis on litigation and real estate
• Experience in high-volume litigation is a plus
Responsibilities
• All aspects of commercial real estate transactions and closings, from letters of intent and purchase and sale agreements, to ordering and tracking title, survey and entitlement review, negotiation with title companies.
• Preparing closing documents, settlement statements, contract timelines, closing checklists, closing binders, correspondence and post-closing disbursements and follow up.
• Meeting court and client deadlines, organizing and maintaining responsibility of files, calendars and meetings, etc.
• Scheduling client meetings; preparation of estate planning and probate documents.
Skills
• Heavy typing, editing, formatting, red-lining and proofreading contracts/real estate and other documents, including attorney time sheets and bills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction from multiple attorneys.
• Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently.
• Ability to understand legal documents.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe, and SoftPro and willing to learn additional specialized software programs.
• Excellent grammar, organizational (electronic and paper) skills, accuracy and attention to detail in all written communications and documents.
• Outgoing personality and adept at interacting with clients.
• Proactive and extremely organized a must.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds.
Work Hours
• Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
