Machinist

Amphenol Aerospace is hiring Machinists!

BASIC PURPOSE:

The CNC Machinist I operates CNC machines while maintaining high productivity levels throughout their shift. They also complete all job duties to ensure a smooth handoff of status to the following shift upon their arrival. Trainee and advanced-level positions are also available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and understand job layouts, blueprints, and schematics
• Work from written and verbal job instructions on operations
• Assist production supervisors with all aspects of KPI requirements (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost)
• Active participant and advocate of Lean and 5S culture company-wide
• Follow “in-process” quality inspections and work with team members to ensure total quality
• Aid in feedback to planning and engineering to optimize productivity
• Provide translation service for team members when required
• Ensure usage of correct gaging, hand measuring tools and metrology equipment to deliver the highest possible quality components for our customers
• Support preventative maintenance of equipment and report machine issues to production supervisor
• Provide hourly production stats to production supervisor and implement quick corrective actions

COMPETENCIES:

• General knowledge of workmanship standards, surface finish, and burrs
• Proficiency in measurement equipment
• Familiar with machine upkeep
• Familiar with 5S and organization concepts
• Strict time management with self and other employees to support a productive work environment
• Ability to communicate with and collaborate with team members
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work on a busy manufacturing floor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift no more than 75 lbs. of bar stock (preferred but not required)
