Maintenance Tech II

$1,250 Hiring Bonus

General Description of Duties:

• Responsible for minor to moderately complex remodeling, repairs, and maintenance.
• Perform general landscaping and janitorial duties.
• Undertake projects to maintain facilities, including repairing/replacing plumbing fixtures, defective electrical switches and outlets, HVAC units, as required.
• Assist in performing various administrative duties regarding work orders.
• Ability to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies promptly, rotating "on-call" status regularly.
• May handle duties related to picking up and delivering various donations and designated items.
• Communicate with customers regarding estimated times of arrival for drop-off or pick-up.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving any issues that arise.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and time management skills required.

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Three years general maintenance experience and one-year experience driving oversized trucks/vans required.
• Post high school training or certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry is a plus.
• Advanced training in building maintenance preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English with internal and external customers of Adelante.
• Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
• Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors, and co-workers.

Other Requirements: Must be pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM drivers license and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record. Must be able to travel to different locations. Must be skilled in the use and operation of hand/power tools and equipment. Must be able to perform hard physical labor (i.e., moving furniture, construction materials, remodeling etc.) for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 80 lbs. Job Type: Full-time Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm; Must be available on-call via pager.

Pay from: $17.00 per hour DOE.
