Manager Pharmacy Services - Specialty
Job Description
SUMMARY:
Provides strategic leadership, oversight, and operational coordination for the organizations 340B drug pricing program and its integration with specialty pharmacy and oncology service lines. This role is responsible for driving program compliance, maximizing savings opportunities, and supporting service line growth through strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and the implementation of best practices. The manager will serve as a liaison between pharmacy operations, compliance, finance, and clinical departments to align 340B and specialty strategies with institutional goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provide strategic oversight of the 340B program, ensuring compliance with HRSA, manufacturer guidelines, and internal audit protocols.
* Collaborate with specialty pharmacy and oncology services to optimize 340B capture, improve continuity of care, and support long-term growth.
* Identify missed opportunities and lead the development and execution of corrective action plans to improve savings and compliance.
* Develop and deliver training to 340B analysts and stakeholders across departments, fostering program knowledge and operational excellence.
* Analyze program data and performance metrics to guide decision-making and strategic initiatives.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for 340B-related audits, external reviews, and internal compliance evaluations.
* Partner with Pharmacy, Finance, IT, and Clinical teams to align operational workflows with program goals and regulatory requirements.
* Support contract pharmacy network optimization and relationships with external vendors or third-party administrators (TPAs).
* Monitor and interpret policy changes, providing leadership with timely updates and operational impact assessments.
* Lead initiatives that promote transparency, sustainability, and reinvestment of program savings into patient-centered services.
* Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in a related field; or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities that meet the minimum requirements.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of leadership experience across pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, and 340B program strategy.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to apply basic algebraic concepts.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
