Position Summary:

Podiatry office seeking an experienced Licensed Nail Technician/Medical Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nail care/foot care in a podiatry setting.
  • Recognize pre-existing wounds or any other potential issues and bring to doctor's attention.
  • Take vitals when necessary
  • Assist provider by helping with procedures and applying patients' dressing.
  • Clean exam rooms, clean and sterlize instruments and clean pedicure spa chairs
  • Prepares the daily schedules for the office, pulls and prepares the patient charts, ensuring that the proper chart has been selected and the appropriate paperwork has been attached to the chart (i.e., encounter form, etc.)
  • Room placement
  • Record patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy info, prescription list, etc into EMR for physical
  • Supply ordering
  • Stocking of rooms
  • Ordering tests, obtaining prior authorizations
  • Requesting and obtaining referrals for patient visits and surgery
  • Front desk support - phone triage, appointment scheduling and co-pay collection
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Knowledge & Skills:

Experience with electronic medical record strongly preferred (Athena/ECW a plus)
Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook preferred

Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical/Other:

  • Graduate from a board certified Cosmetology program; Cosmetology license required
  • Graduate from Certified Medical Assistant program
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of experience Podiatry office required.
  • Must have solid pedicure skills.
  • Some travel may be required within the market
