Job Description

Job Title: Memorial Processor Status: Full or Part Time

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Salary Grade: 22

Department/Location: Diocese of Tucson Catholic Cemeteries / Tucson, AZ

Primary Function: The primary responsibility of the Memorial Assistant is to provide support as needed to ensure the accurate and timely design, payment, ordering and placement of memorials for the cemeteries. The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, "Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received." (Eph. 4:1)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the pastoral and spiritual mission of the Diocese and the Catholic Church
  • Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employees professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures.
  • Performs in support of the Catholic Cemeterys Mission
  • Follow all Cemetery policies related to contract processing, payments, vendor orders and placement of memorials.
  • Customer Service focuses on understanding and communicating the status of memorial orders.
  • Perform timely review of all order tracking and follow up with pending orders and orders placed.
  • Research issues brought to the departments attention, assist in communicating resolution to families.
  • Assist in ensuring Cemetery Management Software is current with all relevant information with respect to contracts for merchandise orders.
  • Create and manage work orders to track installation of all markers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisors or their representative.
Physical / Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in normal office environment. Exposure to outdoor activities

Required Activities: Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, carrying, and keyboarding. Withstand exposure to extreme temperatures when inspecting and validating memorial placements on the grounds of the cemeteries.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail and well organized.
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
  • The ability to successfully complete a criminal history and background check.
  • Excellent communications skills including written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to records and services.
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance.
  • Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 + years of work experience that includes administrative tasks and worksheet tracking.
  • Experience with management system software platforms
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish, English) preferred.
  • Microsoft office proficiency to include Outlook, Word, Excel a requirement.
