Job Description

New Alternatives, Inc. is a private nonprofit agency that has provided a wide range of services to children, youth and families in San Diego and Orange Counties since 1978. Therapeutic services include residential, outpatient, day treatment, crisis support and in home support services.

Mental Health Worker for the Crisis Action & Connection program (CAC):

  • Mental Health Worker (MHW) provides intensive, in home services to the identified child and family in order to assist in stabilizing current crisis and linking child and family to needed services. Services are client centered and culturally sensitive.
  • MHW works directly with the youth and families and collaborates with the program clinician and other providers.
  • Other direct services include parent education, life skills training, skill building, and increasing coping skills.
  • Full time/ Benefits including medical, dental and vacation
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Direct service Hours vary but typically Monday -Friday, 8-4, 9:30 - 6 or 10:30 -7 depending on appointments and needs of families.
  • BA or BS degree in field of Social work, psychology, child development or related field.

 

NAI/EOE employer San Diego County Mental Health Contract Position provides services throughout San Diego County community so personal vehicle is required.

Mileage is reimbursed.
