Job Preview at a Glance:

In this position, you will coordinate/lead daily clinical nursing operational activities of the unit and organization by ensuring that quality care is delivered in an efficient work environment. By assisting Direct of Nursing as needed with managing the nursing services at our sites, you would ensure quality consumer care, effective treatment, and demonstrates a model of professional conduct in assisting consumers in their recovery.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and available to cover any shift if needed and be on a rotation to take calls on the weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review accuracy and approval of staff timesheets
  • Assists and participates in the hiring, onboarding, and orientation/training of new staff
  • Staff, schedules, appropriately using nursing and support staff.
  • Facilitate referrals to the CRU/RTP
  • Provide leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing
  • Ensures adequate medication and supplies are on-hand, ordering prescriptions and stock as needed.
  • Provides and supervises behavioral health, crisis intervention, assessment, intake and evaluation services according to company standards.
  • Participates in Quality Management activities.
  • Shares on-call responsibilities with Director of Nursing, including being available to work any shift while on-call.
  • Engages in professional growth and continuing education activities beyond the minimum agency requirements.
  • Providing therapeutic interactions and activities. Skilled in the use of approved CIRT and Seclusion & Restraint techniques, including using the least restrictive interventions appropriate for the situation.
  • Monitors the quality and timeliness of documentation completed by clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with clinical teams and case managers to advocate for the best interest of the consumer.
  • Collaborates with BHMP regarding psychiatric and medical problems and coordinates services needed, as well as obtains, monitors and accurately administers medications as ordered.
  • Completes clinical documentation and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Actively participates in daily staffing for the purpose of utilization review and discharge planning.
  • Provides Registered Nurse shift coverage as needed.
  • To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement consists of a 21-year age.
  • Required to be Registered Nurse, currently licensed in the State of Arizona.
  • Post-degree experience of three years in the area of psychiatric nursing or Masters Degree in Psychiatric Nursing preferred
  • Experienced in a community-based psychiatric practice is preferred.
  • Documentation of education, relevant work experience, and credentials is required.
