  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students' educational and personal growth.
  • Familiarity with instructional strategies, learning accommodations, and behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Flexible working hours and the willingness to contribute to after-school programs, events, or initiatives, as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Student Support: Work closely with high school students, providing academic and emotional support in alignment with their individual needs. Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, clarifying concepts, and reinforcing learning objectives. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
  • Personalized Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations for students with diverse learning abilities. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students who require additional assistance. Adapt instructional materials and strategies to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
  • Behavioral and Emotional Support: To create a safe and trusting environment, build positive relationships with students, particularly those homeless or in high-needs situations. Address behavioral challenges and conflicts proactively and constructively. Implement strategies to support students' social-emotional development and well-being.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and paraprofessionals to coordinate instructional activities and student support services. Communicate regularly with team members to share observations, concerns, and progress related to students. Collaborate in developing and implementing intervention plans as needed. Foster effective communication with parents/families, maintaining regular contact for scheduling Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, conducting attendance check-ins, and sending progress reports.
