What youll do:

This 20 hour per week role provides direct psychotherapy individually and in group settings, crisis stabilization and other services to individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking or hate crimes using a Systems based approach to interventions. *This position will be based out of EMPACT Glendale office for 2 days per week and EMPACT Tempe Children's Center on Fridays for half a day. *On Call component. *Crisis Differential provided.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct community based and in-home psychotherapy for the purpose of assessment, diagnosis and treatment with follow-up contact for sexual abuse and domestic violence victims in both individual and group settings. Clientele includes youth, adults and families. Identifies victims personal advocacy, provisions and assistance needs including community referrals. Makes mandatory reports to appropriate authorities regarding child or vulnerable adult abuse or neglect.
  • Coordinates communication with other departments in the agency for continuity of care. Collaborates with hotline staff, trauma advocates and therapists, plus community agencies to provide crisis intervention and de-escalation/stabilization of high intensity trauma symptoms on scene, risk assessment for danger to self or others, transportation, victim support and/or supervision, psycho-education about trauma symptomology, parenting training, behavior management training and assistance.
  • Ensures quality service delivery including clinical care and all associated documentation and complies with the agencys standard of care for service delivery. Assists with Quality Management and Utilization Review as assigned by management. Maintains all client records in accordance with agency policies and procedures. This includes appropriate phone documentation, intake documentation, endangerment triaging, treatment planning, referral triaging, risk planning, termination documentation, interagency reports, follow-up documentation and all necessary data collection.
  • Provides and delivers assigned special projects during on-call shifts on weekly basis. Follows THS special projects procedures for overnight special project calls. Includes providing mobile crisis assessment, intervention services, and in home support services to clients throughout Maricopa and surrounding counties.
  • Provides instruction and training for interns, pool staff, and new staff as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Department Manager. Recommends to the Clinical Coordinator or Manager changes that would improve service delivery.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides and delivers at least 40 hours of work per week. May be required to work beyond the scheduled shift to complete required paperwork or to complete crisis stabilization tasks. Evening and night hours may be required. May be required to work beyond shift with no advanced warning if the crisis situation warrants or if required paperwork is not complete at the end of the shift. May be required to use down time for special projects to benefit Crisis and/or other departments within the agency. This position receives a differential in pay, as a result, which is specific to this position only. If one wishes to accept a different position in the agency, the differential would not follow.
  • Participates in all regularly scheduled department meetings. Required to receive at least 4 hours of supervision per month from a coordinator in the department.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all related state, community behavioral health, and contracting organizations.
  • Participates in agency fund raising activities as requested by management.

What youll provide:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field required.
  • Associate level AZBBHE licensure or higher required or to be obtained within six months.
  • Clear and effective communication. Strong customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Conflict resolution experience.
  • Must possess valid AZ Driver's license with no major infractions for the past 39 months.
  • Fingerprint clearance card required or must be eligible to obtain one.
  • Bilingual - Spanish preferred. *Language differential offered.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.

  • If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPCs liability insurance carrier is required.
  • Attend meetings, training, and agency activities and events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request.
  • Maintain compliance with required training.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or member of management.
