Job Description

In an aim to help keep our patients, staff, and communities safe, STRIDE requires that all hired employees be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and to obtain an annual flu shot. STRIDE CHC employees are also required to be screened for tuberculosis and to complete a PPD test.

Pay

$63,000.00 – $65,327.00 Annually

What will you be doing in this role? A successful candidate will:

General Purpose: General accounting and finance duties up to and including payroll processing, benefit processing, reconciliation, reporting and other payroll and benefit related duties.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and submit the bi-weekly payroll, reimbursement, 401k and other compensation related submissions and filings accurately and timely.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and upload into accounting system
  • Understand proper taxation and deductions of payroll transactions
  • Mentor Payroll specialist staff and assist with questions.
  • Review and resolve issues in monthly account reconciliations for payroll/benefit related accounts.
  • Reconcile payroll tax reports
  • Stay informed on prevailing laws and regulations related to payroll.
  • Research and provide information for unclaimed wage payments.
  • Support quarter and Year End tax reporting processes as required by law.
  • Maintain the payroll system, in coordination with HR, updating for grant coding, rate changes, and supervisory approval changes.
  • Resolve and respond to payroll-related questions
  • Execute feeds related to payroll processing
  • Review garnishment calculations and handle communication to requestors and employees as needed.
  • Prepare EFTs for payroll funding and payroll tax returns
  • Prepare payroll related grant reports
  • Work with external auditors on compensation and benefit related needs.
  • Payroll, benefit and other compensation related tracking, reporting and analytics.
  • Other payroll and compensation related duties, as needed.
  • Optimize and maintain payroll software and related systems.
  • Assist with process improvements and other projects, as needed.
  • Develop and nurture effective working relationships with associates across the company to understand the business.
  • Other duties as requested.


Non-essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Attends all staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.


Job Qualifications

Knowledge, skill and ability:

  • Must have knowledge of accepted accounting and auditing principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of finance principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills; Experience with Multiview is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment, both within finance and other areas, to meet deadlines and adhere to STRIDE policies and protocols.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, strong communication skills, initiative, planning and organizing skills, problem analysis and problem-solving skills, teamwork, stress tolerance.
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Paycom, Multiview or other relevant accounting software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.


Education or Formal Training:

Associates Degree preferred.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of proven proficiency in Payroll, preferable to the duties mentioned above.
  • FQHC/Healthcare/Non-Profit experience preferred.

  • Paycom, Multiview, Microsoft Office applications, computer, 10-key calculator and general office equipment.


Working environment/physical activities:

  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work as required by job duties.
