Job Title: Payroll Assistant

Department: Payroll
FLSA Status: Full time & Non-Exempt
Reports To: Payroll Manager

Job Summary: The Payroll Assistant provides administrative support for the payroll department. This position prepares, processes, and maintains payroll documents such as live checks and direct deposit slips. The Payroll Assistant is in constant communication with the payroll team and clients to ensure data accuracy within the payroll system.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Print and ship all payroll checks
  • Order check stock and ship supplies
  • Organization of copy room
  • Coordinate the maintenance of check printers and other equipment
  • Assist Payroll Processors with data entry
  • Answer all incoming payroll calls
  • Open and organize mail as need for the department
  • Special project assistance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to type 35 WPM
  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • PEO or Multi-site, Multi-state experience a plus
Education and Experience:
  • Six (6) months of payroll experience preferred, but not required
  • Six (6) months of customer service experience required
