Job Description

The Centennial location offers two IOPs (6 hours per week each), case management, counseling services and medication services for Community Wellness clients. Medicaid and indigent will be the only fund source accepted at this location.

Hourly Rate:

$14 - $17 an hour

Position Summary:

The Peer Specialist is responsible for partnering with consumers in order to engage them in treatment and assist them in working toward their individual recovery goals. Peer specialists provide assistance that will empower clients to adapt and live successfully within the community. Services are provided at our drop in center, other MH offices, and community.

Responsibilities:

Meet with consumers in the milieu of Center Point and the community to establish a relationship, build trust and develop interventions that will help them to engage in services and work towards their recovery.

Partner with consumers to identify goals and work through barriers to meeting recovery goals.
Adhere to the guiding principals of trauma informed care.

Provide resource linkage to assist consumers connect with other agencies and community supports as indicated in their individual recovery plans.

Work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team. Communicate and collaborate effectively amongst treatment teams.

Functions as a colleague and role model working in partnership with program members and other staff in all facets of division programs.
Ability to manage in a milieu setting large groups of consumers for extended lengths of time that include engaging them in milieu activities, managing consumers in crisis, and oversight of the milieu settings to ensure safety for all consumers and staff.
Participate with members in BHI community events such as Member Advisory Board meetings, NAMI events and picnics, planning committees, community dances etc.
Lead social recreation activities, supportive/psycho-educational, and skill building groups. This includes engaging members in activities and helping to model and teach social skills to members as indicated.
Job will include driving agency vehicles to transport clients to social activities and appointments. As such staff will be expected to participate in mandatory driving clinic and annual DMV checks.

Participate in a) AllHealth Network meetings and trainings as directed, b) team meetings c) individual and group supervision.

Expected to demonstrate customer service focus, good communication and professionalism with consumer, co-workers and outside agency personnel in order to provide high quality services and to enhance community relationships.

Complete and follow through with financial and clinical information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services provided to consumers.

Complete all paperwork within the 24 hour standard.

Complete all required hard copy and electronic paperwork within established timelines, and to accepted standards of practice. Provide and maintain accurate documentation of one's interventions with and for clients.

Expected to follow all AllHealth Network clinical policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including those related to confidentiality, release of information and record keeping.

Complete all training required by the agency including trainings that are specifically directed to increase peer specialist training.

Perform other duties within the scope of the position and within the experience of the employee as may be requested or required.
