DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Fleet Service Assistant position will assist the Fleet Coordinator in the day-to-day ?lnctions of ?eet
management. This position is responsible for all aspects of ?eet maintenance such as movement of ?eet vehicles
and equipment, assisting in minor ?eet repairs such as changing batteries, tires, and wipers. Will prepare vehicles
for service to include refueling and cleaning, as directed by the Police Fleet Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
0 Reviews ?eet status, analyzes ?eet equipment usage, and makes recommendation to the Fleet Coordinator.Under the direction of the Fleet Coordinator allocates and distributes vehicles to assigned personnel.Moves and stages vehicles for service and move to and from various service vendors.Conducts daily inspections for damage or mechanical problems.Performs regular vehicle maintenance such as jump starts vehicles with jumper cables, replaces batteries,changes ?at tires and re-install speci?c emergency equipment from patrol vehicles i.e. radars, mobile radios,and MDT Decks. Inspect and clean vehicles as needed.
0 Maintain records and invoices on all malfunctioning or broken ?eet equipment repaired and replaced by
vendor. Maintains ?les on all monthly vehicle fuel logs and distributes ?iel cards to appropriate driver(s).
Maintains databases to include but not limited to: current assigned ?eet vehicles, preventive maintenance
service schedule, vehicle calibration results, specialized equipment used or potentially usable for special
details.

- Schedules the installation and maintenance of aftermarket equipment with vendors. Pick up and deliver parts
to vendors as needed. Ensure each vehicle is equipped with the required documentation.

- Serves as a liaison with Various departments and outside vendors.

- Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:0 Knowledge of automotive/emergency equipment resources, suppliers, and alternatives for specialized
materials and equipment used in the automotive repair industry.
0 Knowledge of computers, and programs; Microsoft Of?ce, Excel and Word.Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with employees, vendors, and the
public. Effectively respond to and resolves vendor inquires.Ability to evaluate the best methods of research and exercises appropriate judgment in establishing priorities
and resolving matters.Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and to choose the most appropriate one.
Ability to exert light physical effort, sit or stand for long periods of time.Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull of objects and material of 5-50 pounds.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written format.REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years experience in warehousing, procurement, vehicle
maintenance, repair and troubleshooting, or customer service; or any combination of education, training,
experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a United States Citizen and at least 21 years of age.Not been found guilty of, or entered a plea of nolo contendere or guilty, to any felony offense or any of two
or more misdemeanor offenses under Federal, State, or Tribal law involving crimes of violence, sexual assault,
molestation, exploitation, contact or prostitution, crimes against persons, or offenses committed against
children.No convictions of a felony or any offense that would be considered a felony if committed in the State of
Arizona, includes offenses involving domestic violence.Not have been dishonorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces.Possess and maintain a valid Arizona Drivers License with less than three traffic violations (civil or
misdemeanor offense) within the last 39 months as a condition of employment.Not have illegally possessed or used marijuana for any purpose within the past three years.Clear Federal Regulated Adjudication 25 Code of Federal Regulation 63, Executive Order (E.O) 12968,
the Gun Control Act of 1968 (Pub. L. 90-618); the Crime Control Act of 1990 (Pub. L. 101-647), and the
requirements of the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, as amended (Pub. L. 101-
630) - Background clearance every ?ve (5) yearsPass pre-employment testing: physical or ability written test, selection interview review board, polygraph and
drug screen.Required to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance as a condition of employment and must
continue to maintain throughout duration of employment.Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit.Required to obtain a Tribal Operators permit. Valid state drivers license with a current proof of driving
record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record
must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission
of the application.Non-Supervisory, Hourly Position
