Job Description

The Program Coordinator Senior will join an impact-driven team focused on accelerating the global transition to a low-carbon economy and contribute to efforts that enable energy access in developing countries, mitigate climate change, and modernize the electric grid for improved resilience. This position is intended to cover a broad range of responsibilities and will provide administrative, project, and executive support under the supervision of the Program Manager Research roles. In particular, this role will assist the leadership team with program management, budgeting, payroll forecasting, calendaring, event support and other administrative tasks.


Salary Range

$56,000 - $64,300 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Actively utilize program management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Google drive, Dropbox);
  • Develop connections between institutions, people, and concepts to help proactively manage expectations and avoid challenges;
  • Work with LEAPS leadership to develop budgetary plans for sustainable growth of LEAPS research and training portfolios;
  • Monitors a variety of account expenditures, maintain and reconcile budgets for various projects
  • Plan and track human resource allocations to manage time expectations and equitable allocation of resources across projects;
  • Serve as administrative primary point of contact with internal ASU apartments and external parties;


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND four years administrative/coordinate program experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinate program experience; OR, Eight years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinate program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in managing multiple high- priority projects requiring considerable coordination and follow through.
  • Experience with program management software such as Smartsheet;
  • Experience with ASU program management, proposal preparation, and financial management.
  • Experience in budget preparation, forecasting and account management.
  • Experience with international research and programs.
  • Experience with Outlook and Google calendaring systems.
  • Experience in managing and delivering multiple priorities within tight timeframes and deadlines.
  • Experience working with remote and international teams/organizations; dealing with ambiguity, differing time zones, and intercultural communications.
  • Experience in working independently.
  • Evidence of a collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment.
  • Experience in communication technologies, including website management oversight, video conferencing, e-mail and marketing platforms, social media platforms and the ability to prepare high quality PowerPoint presentations/video.

  • Position is located on the Polytechnic Campus.
  • Climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer.
