DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The Program Supervisor provides supervision of WIOA and NEW case management staff to ensure compliance

with the Federal/State WIOA (2 separate grants) and NEW Grant. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring

guidelines for documentation, reporting, case management and grant performance standards are adhered to.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Ensures staff follows all grant guidelines/regulations set by the grant, i.e., case management, services,

documentation, performance standards, and in-house MIS requirements; monitors staff files, assigns client

files to staff, and provides training as needed.

 Selects participants for the program that would best meet the performance of the grant, handles walk-in

clients, conducts meetings with local employers on behalf of clients, coordinates recruitment booths for

Community events, and conducts presentations on behalf of the program participants.

 Assist staff with case management of participants when caseloads are above the capability of staff to manage.

 Schedules orientations, in house participant training and recruitment activities for participants.

 Revises program forms, develops materials for presentations, meets with MIS staff, and develops other

materials for the program to be used in recruitment.

 Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:

 Considerable knowledge of environment and cultural factors in influencing the behavior of individuals in off-

reservation employment situations.

 Considerable knowledge of guidelines (federal and government) in relation to Employment and Training.

 Considerable knowledge of community and private organizations, human service agencies, employment

service programs and other resources.

 Knowledge of economic, educational, social and health challenges of Native Americans.

 Knowledge of careers including requirements and opportunities in a variety of occupations.

 Knowledge of motivational techniques and ability to maintain positive client and staff rapport.

 Knowledge of principles of supervision and performance evaluation.

 Must be organized and be able to work independently to coordinate and develop assigned programs within

department requirements.
