The Analytics Database Architect is responsible for planning and developing overall database design to support the Analytics team.


Responsibilities: 

  • Solve business problems and provide answers to business questions
  • Participate meaningfully in requirements gathering
  • Set up, configure, maintain, secure, and tune MySQL/SQL/Redshift instances
  • Design, maintain, and secure MySQL/ SQL /Redshift databases
  • Design, maintain and tune queries for Tableau datasources
  • ETL data across multiple platforms
  • Create and update SQL queries as needed
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement database backup & replication strategies
  • Assist colleagues with query optimization, report generation, and database support
  • Monitor databases and troubleshoot performance issues­
  • Provide feedback on capacity planning, future plans, and database-related trends
  • Stay aware of developments in database technologies and explore alternatives
  • Plan regular upgrades and migrations of databases
  • Perform other related duties as required 


Experience and Education Required:

  • 5 years of experience with databases
  • 2 years of experience with MySQL/SQL Server / Redshift
  • Postsecondary education is helpful but not required if experience and expertise suffice

Working Conditions: 

This position primarily works in an office environment. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
