Job Description
SUMMARY:
Conducts research and analysis concerning chemistry of foods to develop and improve foods, beverages, and cosmetics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned as the company's needs dictate.
? Studies effects of various methods of processing, preservation, and packaging on composition and properties of foods such as color, texture, aroma, taste, shelf life, and nutritive content.
? Performs quality control tests in food processing, and distilling.
? Analyzes raw materials, intermediate and finished products following specifications and performs required analysis such as: organoleptic evaluation, pH, moisture, crude protein, heavy metals, and others.
? Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
? Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
? Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
? Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
? Operates, maintains, and diagnoses instruments used in analytical lab.
? Approves/rejects raw materials, intermediate and finished products based on Sunriders specifications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) in a scientific discipline from four-year college or university; and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation: $57,000/year
