Job Description
SUMMARY
The Mentor Coordinator works with Military Personnel, Veterans and their Families. The Mentor Coordinator serves as a guide to qualifying individuals in their need to acquire resources and/or ongoing health services by coordinating and monitoring (1) Federal, State and Local Government Resources, (2) RBHA, (3) Private/Individual Providers and (4) National & Local Community and/or Veterans Based organizations and resources to facilitate the delivery of these necessary services and support. The goal of the Mentor Coordinator is to provide individuals who are voluntary and able to give informed consent, assistance in accessing Resource Navigation Services.

REQUIREMENTS
Training and Experience
Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Peer experience-- identification as recipient of mental health services [in Pima Co.] or having assisted family member in their mental health or substance abuse recovery process. Military background required
Position requires driving of company van and/or personal vehicle. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and appropriate liability insurance at all times. Also requires eligibility for liability coverage with La Fronteras insurance carrier.
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
Requires competency (via specialized training) in the following areas: *Risk Assessment *In Home Safety *AHCCCS eligibility/Affordable Health Care Act *SMI eligibility *Crisis System *Other identified peer specialist and system training
Effective interpersonal skills which allow for professional and positive relationships with co-workers, consumers, families and other community members; effective communication skills evidenced by a non-judgmental approach, effective listening and positive interaction; thorough understanding of the role of family support at each stage of the recovery process; ability to effectively interpret and implement complex treatment plans based upon a wide knowledge base of available community services. Preferably a U.S. Veteran.
