Reports To: Director, Cardiopulmonary Services or Designated Shift Supervisor
Summary: To provide quality therapeutic and diagnostic Respiratory Care Services, for newborns through geriatrics in critical and non-critical areas, as described in the Cardiopulmonary policy and procedure manual. The RCP II will share in clinical evaluation for services, including establishment of therapeutic objectives and review of care, based on the culture, age and needs of the patient.
Requirements: Demonstrate knowledge of safe, aseptic respiratory care techniques. Demonstrates ability to assess, plan and provide individual care for patients in compliance with physician's orders, taking into account the mental status and development, and the physical needs of each patient based on age in the following categories of patients service by the facility: Infant, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Recent practical respiratory care of 1 year or more preferred. Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Care Program is required. California RCP license and AHA BLS required. Must obtain AHA ACLS and AHA PALS within 6 months of hire date.
