Job Description:

Under the leadership of the department director and clinical informatics manager, the RN Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for designing, testing, and implementing clinical informatics solutions to improve the reliability of clinical workflows. Collaborates with clinicians, technical analysts and vendors to define and build application requirements and to resolve application problems. Utilizes application expert knowledge and tools to optimize application functionality and mitigate the risk of patient harm. Manages relevant committee activities, adept at developing business requirements, and serves as the primary liaison between clinical users, physicians, other Health Information Technology staff, and vendors. Serves as a resource to front line caregivers. Develops strategies for change management, performance improvement, and application optimization.

Experience:

Previous hospital experience as an RN. Possesses strong analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and physicians. Ability to multi-task working on a variety of projects at one time; each project interrupted by another or some other project of higher priority, as well as interruptions resulting from close working proximity to co-workers. Ability to work productively in teams and independently. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook required. Previous experience in clinical informatics preferred. Experience with project implementations desirable. Two or more years of clinical practice as an RN preferred. Experience with other Microsoft Office products desirable. Experience with application configuration tools to support the clinical systems is highly desirable. Experience in leading and facilitating group/team process desired. Experience in formal and informal teaching of adult learners.

Education:

Registered Nurse licensed in California.
