A clinically competent Registered Nurse (RN) who provides care to newborns and families through scheduled clinic visits, home visits, or during the in-patient stay. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. A member of the professional nursing staff, the RN is expected to maintain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice following professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. The RN functions collaboratively with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice and is able to integrate ethical provision in all areas of practice. The RN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services through Gunnison Valley Health Hospital.
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred
Experience: At least one year of clinical nursing and previous experience in maternal-child nursing preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Licensed RN in the state of Colorado. Valid Drivers license and current automobile insurance. Reliable transportation. Current CPR and NRP certifications. CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) required, IBCLC preferred or obtained within first 2 years of hire.
