JOBSUMMARY:

The rooms controller maintainsinventory and focuses on preparing for all guest arrivals to ensure the hoteldepartment is exceeding all guests expectations.

ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure that guestneeds and special requests are met.
  • Handles specialprojects and other job duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for coordinatingdiamond/seven star room assignments, event reservation requests, and same dayroom reservation requests.
  • Responsible for coordinating roomvacancies, room assignments, reports, express checkouts, and other reservationstatus changes on a daily basis.
  • Works closelywith related departments such as casino marketing, front desk and housekeepingto ensure excellent guest service. Ensuresproper follow through if the involvement of other departments is needed
  • Answer all phonesdirected to the Front Office.
  • Responsible forplacing all guest requests to the housekeeping department, documenting therequest and guest follow up.
  • Complete back toback reservation extensions for day of extensions.
  • Complete expresscheckouts and due outs.
  • Monitorunassigned rooms and contact guest upon room readiness.
  • Pre-assign allVIP special requests.
  • Promote andmaintain constant communication between all departments.
  • Expected tostreamline departmental operations through the continuous assessment ofpolicies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness/value.
  • Maintainsaccuracy within accommodation availability.
  • Empowered toensure that customers complaints/problems/issues are handled in an effective,prompt and courteous manner.
  • Complete required paperwork for various front desk transactions and inputinformation into the computer.

ADDITIONALJOB DUTIES:

  • Act as a guest service representative when required.

EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE:

  • High schooldiploma/GED is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Must present aprofessional, clean and "Crisp?? appearance.
  • Career interest withinthe hospitality field or related industry is preferred.
  • Computer usageskills required.
  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Word, Office 97, Outlook, Excel, and other common computerapplications is required.
  • LMS systemknowledge is preferred.
  • Must be able toget along well with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must be able towork a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Professionalappearance and demeanor required.
  • Stronginterpersonal skills are required.
  • A working knowledgeof the Phoenix area is preferred.
